Dark Reaction of Photosynthesis

Every living on earth depends on the process of producing energy on plants called photosynthesis. Especially plants depend on photosynthesis for making food and energy. Other organisms, including herbivores and carnivores, depend on it indirectly because they depend on plants for food. Without plants, they wouldn’t have the food, energy, and nutrients needed to survive. So that’s why photosynthesis becomes the important process for all creatures. For photosynthesis process itself, plants need sunlight to produce organic compounds, such as lipids, proteins, and sugar. Then the organic compounds used to provide energy for the plants. In photosynthesis solar energy is converted to chemical energy. It is required directly in the first process of photosynthesis called Light Dependent Process or Light Reactions. The direct energy of light in light reaction process is to make energy carrier molecules that are used in the second phase of photosynthesis. The second phase of photosynthesis called dark reaction or also known as Calvin cycle doesn't directly depend on solar energy, but it requires and processes some molecules that processed in light reaction process. There are three steps inside Calvin cycle or dark reaction, and every steps occurs in the stoma of the chloroplast.
The first step called as fixation converts the carbon dioxide from the air into an organic compound which cannot move away. In this step, carbon dioxide reacts with Ribulose Bisphospahte (RuBP). This occurs under the influence of enzyme ribulose bisphosphate groubs, and by accepting one more carbon atom from CO2 (Carbon dioxide) it should be converted into 6 carbons, and 2 phosphate compounds. However, these compounds are immediately converted into 2 molecules of glycerate3-phosphate (GP) which contains 3 carbons and one phosphate group. This pathway, as taken from Wikipedia, is called C3 carbon fixation because the first product is a 3-carbon compound.
The second stage is called as carbon dioxide reduction. This stage named as it because when CO2 (Carbon dioxide) reacts with H (Hydrogen) from reduced NADP as a receptor of photosynthesis, it gains hydrogen and loses oxygen to become CH2O (carbohydrates). Reduction is loss of oxygen. However, the CO2 is now part of glycerate 3-phospate. Glycerate 3-phosphate is covered into triose phosphate using reduced NADP and ATP. The reduced NADP provides the reducing hydrogen and is converted back to NADP which is then reduced again in this stage. On the other sides, ATP, as the product of NADP, is used to provide energy for the conversion.
The last phase of this process is called as Ribulose bisphosphate regeneration. In this phase, ribulose monophosphate is converted into ribulose bisphosphate, using a phosphate set from ATP. In a complex series of reactions, the remaining ten molecules of triose phosphate are converted into 6 molecules. Thus reaction which ribulose bisphosphate accepts carbon dioxide to become carboxylated is to keep the cycle operating again.
As the results of one turn of the calvin cycle are 2 Glycerate 3-phosphate molecules, 3 ADP, and 2 NADP. They are regenerated and later used again in the light reaction. It seems clearly, there are some connections between dark reaction and light reaction of photosynthesis. What are processed in light reaction is needed on dark reaction, and so does dark reaction. So that’s why, Calvin cycle is important for photosynthesis in plants. In order to keep Calvin cycle continuing, it doesn’t only depend on plant itself, but we as human also take important act to keep Calvin cycle on photosynthesis running on. We have to balance the ecosystem, for instance the conservation of soil and water has to be kept because those factors indirectly influence the process of photosynthesis especially Calvin cycle. What are produced on photosynthesis process especially dark reaction process or Calvin cycle is not only important for the plant. But also, it is important for all creatures’ life.

Most kids like watching every kind of films which provide anime display. In fact, many cartoon films provide a violence. Definitely, it has a huge bad impact for children’s personality and behaviour. It takes our kids’ lives into a risk.
Children, they cannot recognize what they watch exactly, whether it  brings to the kindness or violence. Kids cannot filter it yet well. They just enjoy the show as well as they can. In other cases,  the children are still  fresh consumers,  especially for pre-schoolers. It must be big home-work for our goverment. They should make strengthen licence to keep televison cartoon program set. Not all cartoon movies are able to be comsumed by our kids. Mukarram, 8, studying in elementary scool, who received a warning from his school after he beat up a fellow student. When asked for explanation he said innocently: “ I was just showing my friend one of the  moves I watched in a cartoon the night before”. His family being realize they never keep an eye on his tv activities.
Psychological research have been proven the four major effects of it cause: the children may become less sensitive to the pain and suffer others; children who watch it are not fear violence in general, they may become more fearful of the world around them; and they may be more likely to behave in aggressive or harmful ways toward others (National Institute of Mental Health, 1982). Watching violent cartoons regularly leads the children to consider violence as a normal response to stress and anger. A child who watches cartoon movies regularly decrease the imaginative play, and increase the imitative play in which the child imitates those violence and agressive action. Power Rangers is the example of  bad cartoons. This film teaches child how to solve problem with a violence. It shows how the hero attack the enemy with violence. And children understanding are a badness must be attacked by a badness too.
Those are some ways to avoid our children from violent harm cartoons. As a good parents we have to monitor our child while watching their favourite movies. Parents have to watch the cartoons with their children, and evaluate these cartoons together. Talking with the children about the cartoons they watched is very significant, because parents will be able to know whether these cartoons affect their children positively or not. In addition, parents can use videotapes of high quality children's programming and public television, so they make sure that the cartoons do not have any violent figures by any mean.

Computers have many benefits and many programs which are easy to use. Computers have changed people’s life in many ways. This is an evidence that there are many positive and negative effects of computer.
Beginning with the positive of computers, people have accesses to get information in computers without having to drive to the library for research. Wireless technology allows people to obtain information within minute. It makes relationship with many people. We can know each other not only in one country but also another country. It would be not late to report the news. We can do everything in the computers.
On the other hand, the negative side of computer also exists. The more time a person spends on a computer, the more dependency to the games and chatting in computer he will have. There is no much time for reading a book. There is no time to review the lesson. We cannot concentrate on our lesson, sometimes we stay up all night and it also brings effect for health such as broken eyes and etc.

Computer is electronic equipment. It is very important, popular, and easy to bring. On the other hand, computers can be dangerous. We can do everything and learn in the computer. Computers have negative and positive effects in the same time.

“Visiting North Korea and South Korea: Finding the Beauty of
Similarities and Diversities”
Have you ever imagined visiting Korea as your dream vacation? Which Korea do you want to visit? North Korea or South Korea? Probably, people think that Korea does not have two regions. In fact, it consists of two regions namely North Korea and South Korea. In term of their historical account, they are believed as the Altaic Race or Proto-Altaic which still has relationship with Mongolian, Chinese, Japanese, etc. However, the unity of both Korea does not last longer. The conflicts between them become one of the civil war which faces severe problems. Hence, United Nations tries to solve this conflict by making a solutive way to make them united called “The Unification of North Korea and South Korea.” It is done because they assume that both Korea are similar even though they are different in some ways.
Beginning with the similarities, they basically have some similar aspects. Firstly, let us concern on their language. They both have similar language system called “Hangeul”. It is the symbol system which was created by King Sejong (1397-1450) from Joseon Dynasty as the alphabet of Korean. When he tried to create Hangeul, the alphabet consisted of 28 characters (17 consonants and 11 vowels). The vowels were made based on the philosophy of “Three Basic Components of Life”, such as: Heaven, Earth, and Human. To date, the common letters which are used consisting of 40 characters (10 single vowels, 11 double vowels, 14 single consonants, and 5 double consonants).
On the other hand, North Korea and South Korea are also same in term of tradition or habit. First and foremost, both Korean choose the places to live in based on geomancy (a method of divination which interprets markings on the ground or how handfuls dirt land when tossed). They believe that some places have positive and negative energy which have to be balanced. They also assume that house should be built to the south in order to get sunlight as much as possible. Moreover, Korean usually has a party to celebrate the new house either those who have just moved or those who have just got married. The party is called “Jibdeuri”. They usually invite their siblings, close friends, and neighbors to visit the new house.
Despite their similarities, North Korea and South Korea also differ in some aspects. North Korea’s political system is Democratic Republic which is communist and authoritative. It includes in one of the single party under the unity front which is lead by Korea Labor Party. The governmental system follows the ideology of Juche which is conceptualized by the former leader of North Korea namely Kim II-sung. On the other hand, South Korea has its own political system. It is Republic. South Korea divides their governmental system into three parts: Executive, Judicative, and Legislative. The President and the prime minister work together in executive board. Also, the representative council has the responsibility in legislative board and the constitutional court takes the responsibility in judicative board.
Besides, they also have different superiority. North Korea is also known as the best region in term or military personnel. It has about 1.106.000 active soldiers and 470.000 reservists. Also, it has 3500 tanks, 3060 guns, 17.900 artilleries, and 500-800 helicopters. In term of North Korean Navy, it has 63 ships, 3 frigates, and 261 Amphibi ships. Moreover, in term of Air Force, it has 440 jets, 215 planes, and 302 helicopters. In other case, South Korea has its own superiority in entertainment. Nowadays, it becomes more popular because of its entertainment, such as: romantic dramas, boybands, and girlbands. It entertains people so much through its talented boybands or girlbands. Therefore, there are some countries which adopt its entertainment.
After knowing the comparison between North Korea and South Korea, we can see that both Korea are not always similar in some ways, but they also differ in some aspects. Comparing North Korea and South Korea can open up our mind to see the beauty of similarities and diversities that exist between them. It is significant to be done as a source of information about both Korea. Lastly, this comparison is expected to give more information and understanding for those who want to visit both Korea someday.

Nurtamin (Human Basic Character)

Getting to Know your Basic Character
There are many psychologists who define personality. One of them is Gordon W. Allport. He defines personality as a dynamic organization from individuals’ psycho-physical which determines the behavior and the way of thinking specially. The existence of psycho-physical influences and forms the behavior of human. Moreover, a dynamic organization means that the attitude that is probably changeable through the process of learning, experiences, rewards, punishments, education, etc. For instance, the lazy Senior High School student becomes more diligent after being the collegian at university. It shows us that his personality has changed from being lazy at Senior High School to be more diligent after studying at university. In this essay, Gordon W. Allport classifies the human basic characters into four categories: Phlegmatic, Melancholy, Choleric, and Sanguine. Those are categorized based on the ability to interact with people.
The Phlegmatic Characteristics
The Phlegmatic indicates the characters that are so difficult to have an interaction with people. It is also known as the most introverts characters. The people who have this character show that they are so silent, calm, and slow. They never feel doubtful to ask for apology when they make mistakes. Besides, they seldom express their ideas or feelings. The phlegmatic people are fun, happy, and kind. Most of them are funny because they have good sense of humor.
Even though the phlegmatic is the most introvert character, it does not mean that the people dislike their existence. Somehow, most children love them because they are fun and humorous. The phlegmatic character usually tends to have a calm face, be patient, and not express their feeling whether they are sad or happy. Indeed, this character tends to be able to master their selves well. However, they have some lacks. They are quite selfish although they do not express it.

Some people believe that this is the most talented character although they do not really realize and appreciate their talents. They often have good perspicacity and esthetic manner so that they appreciate the art more. The melancholy character is also known as the perfectionist character. They often underestimate themselves if they do something which is not same as they expect. Otherwise, they do their best and the people are interested in them.
Besides, they are sincere, serious, and afraid of failure. They are people who really have some obsessions to create the best and the most perfect masterpiece. By their obsessions, that is why they are the ones who really understand, respect, and appreciate the beauty of this life. Because they have strong and sensitive feelings, so some people assume that the artists are mostly the melancholy characters. However, they are easy to be influenced by feelings or we can say that they are moody.

The people who have Choleric Characteristics are mostly hyperactive ones, hard workers, ambitious people, and motivators for others. They have purposes for every single action they do. Besides, they like to take the control and govern others regardless of realizing whether people like or not.
The Choleric characters never try to not master or dominate the situation. They are also called as the people who trigger some conflicts and controversies in life. It happens because they have big emotions. Getting the approval from them is almost impossible. It is because they have big ambitions to get their goals and some of them get their reputation by manipulating and humiliating others.
The table below shows the strengths and the weaknesses of the choleric characters:
StrengthWeaknessDynamic and activeImpatient Change-oriented Easy to be angryTarget-orientedFull of desireFree spirit Like to have conflictsIndependent ToughBraveWorkaholicsProductiveSelfish
Sanguine Characteristics
The Sanguine Character is the most extroverted character. They feel so easy to get involved in the society. They are talkative, easy to adapt, friendly, humorous, and responsive. Besides, they really like to make friends because they believe that friends are like angels. The more friends they get, the more angels they will have. They are seldom worried about their future and their past because they enjoy living by their friends without thinking their problems.
Furthermore, they are not critical thinkers because they interpret and solve the problems quickly. Sometimes, they get problems because they do not anticipate and think twice about their actions. Besides, their feelings have dominant roles in everything they do. Hence, they tend to make decisions based on their emotional feelings. However, we can say that the sanguine characters are those who are happy, easy to make someone laugh, and able to motivate others.
To make you more understand, let us this table:
StrengthWeaknessTalkative Laugh too loudDemonstrative ExaggeratedEnthusiastic, expressive Difficult to be silentFull of curiosity Easy to forgetLike to have many friendsInconsistentEasy to forgiveDifficult to be on time FunSelfish
After knowing those human basic characters, have you known your own self? Which character are you? You can know your basic character by seeing and comparing the characteristics of four categories. Then, you will find in which category you belong.
