The Nail Art

            A type of fashion activities related to manicuring a nail polish, the nail polish or henna was used to paint the nails of mummified pharaohs in the ancient world. In 3000 B.C China used metallic nail polish to distinguish between the ruling class and the general popular population. The nail polish became common among women at the end of 18^th century, but it was not until the 20^th century that manicure establishment really became popular. In the 1960s – present, especially after modern television was introduced, we saw an evaluation of natural, pastel, neon nail polish trends through the ‘60s, and leading up to the ‘80s, ‘90s and ‘00s. In the present, the popular lifestyle in women world is the nail art which is defined as a creative activity searched by women, especially for teenagers. However, the nail art as a creative activity has positive side and negative side.

            Some women think that the nail art is an important style to look more fashionable. They feel confident when using the nail art. The nail art creates unique picture on our nails by some nail polish such as doll pictures, flower pictures and so on. Sometimes, they also feel too old if they do not use the nail art. Nine of ten women think that beautifying the nail improves women self confidence. Besides that, some of them also make the nail art as their hobbies. Therefore, the nail art improves the nail creativity for women. Moreover, women have professions as creators of the nail art. Eventually, they become successful business women from creating the nail art. It happens because they decide to be producers of the nail art. The nail art is usually available in a beauty salon. We often find some shops of the nail art in big malls. It shows that development of the nail art is quick. We conclude that we are able to get our success in the nail art industry.

            The condition will be different when the women only become consumers in this case. The women will shell out big money for the nail art.  They do it to fulfill their satisfactions. It is not a problem. They permit it for their beauties. Unfortunately, they forget that the nail art gives negative effects for their health. As we know that the nail polish is made from the chemicals, so using the nail art is dangerous if we use it for long time. It will cause the skin of our nails dry and it will cause a cancer on our skin too. Therefore, women had better be careful with the health dangers of the nail art. Especially for women in Islam, they are prohibited for using the nail art when they do not have menstruations. It is because the nail polish will be a layer on the nails. In Islam, their ritual ablutions will not completed if the water does not reach the surface of the nails. The women can use the nail art when they have menstruations.

            The nail art is a creative activity which has some advantages. On the other hand, it also has negative effects. Using the nail art can give positive or negative effects. But it depends on the users of the nail art how they protect and care about themselves.
